What this policy covers

This policy covers birthdayenergy.com, the Gift Energy recommender, and the website contact form. The store is currently in launch preview. This page will be updated before payment, advertising, email marketing, or additional analytics providers are activated.

Gift Energy

Recipient details are used to create the recommendation you request. Birthday Energy does not write the questionnaire or generated shortlist to WordPress. Profile and public-page links are not opened. You may paste a public bio or add your own notes after confirming that you have the right to share them.

AI-assisted recommendations

Gift Energy can operate with curated local scoring. If OpenAI assistance is enabled, the limited clues required for that recommendation and a limited store catalog are sent securely to the OpenAI API with response storage disabled. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default, but standard abuse-monitoring logs may retain customer content for up to 30 days unless the account has approved additional data controls. API credentials remain server-side.

Sensitive information and children

Birthday Energy does not intentionally infer health, race or ethnicity, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, financial condition, precise location, or other sensitive traits. Do not submit private information you do not have the right to share, account passwords, or profile information about a child under 13.

Contact messages

When you contact us, we receive the name, email address, topic, and message you provide. The complete inquiry is emailed to energy@birthdayenergy.com so the store administrator can respond. A private server-side backup is also retained for operational continuity. Contact records are automatically deleted after 90 days and are not published or added to marketing automatically.

Technical data and cookies

The host, WordPress, WooCommerce, and security controls may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser details, timestamps, requested pages, and error or security events. A one-way request hash derived from the submitting IP address supports short-lived abuse limits but is not added to contact-message archives. Essential cookies may support security, forms, preferences, and future cart functions. Nonessential advertising or behavioral analytics will not be activated without an appropriate notice and control.

Future orders and payments

When checkout opens, order, shipping, and payment information will be processed through WooCommerce and the payment, tax, shipping, fraud-prevention, and email services identified at that time. Full payment-card data should be entered only into the secure payment interface and never into the contact form or Gift Energy.

Retention and security

Gift Energy questionnaires and generated shortlists are not retained by Birthday Energy. If AI assistance is enabled, the provider retention described above applies. Administrative access is restricted, private contact archives use limited file permissions, and transport encryption is used where supported. No system can promise absolute security.

Your choices

You may decline optional notes or stop before submitting. To ask about access, correction, or deletion of information you submitted, use the contact form and select “Privacy.” We may need to verify the request and retain limited information where law or security requires it.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date. Privacy questions can be sent through the contact form. The administrative contact address is energy@birthdayenergy.com, published here for policy transparency.

This operational baseline should be reviewed by qualified counsel before commercial launch and whenever providers, jurisdictions, or data practices materially change.
